YiFi offers two privacy modes depending on your threat model:

Private mode (XMR-hop)

Routes through Monero as an intermediate layer. XMR’s cryptographic privacy (stealth addresses, ring signatures) makes the intermediate hop unlinkable even under a targeted legal request to both CEX partners simultaneously. Maximum anonymity.

Stealth mode (Stable-hop)

Routes through a stablecoin (USDT/USDC) instead of XMR. Faster, avoids ~0.8-1.0% XMR volatility loss, and still severs the on-chain link via CEX pool opacity. Practical privacy for most users.

Most swaps are completed without mandatory identity verification – a wallet address is all you need. In some cases the system may request additional checks based on automated risk scoring, swap volume, or the specific assets involved. This keeps everyday swaps private while protecting the platform and partners from suspicious activity.

Private routes are sourced from vetted, compliant exchange partners and on-chain DEXs – we never pool or hold user assets, and we don’t charge additional platform fees on top of exchange rates. Privacy comes from routing architecture across multiple off-chain hops and blockchains. That’s fundamentally different from unregulated mixers like Tornado Cash.
